If you are starting to notice recipes for pancakes in the Facebook newsfeed, it's a 'thing' right now.
It starts like this (as cut and pasted from my friend Kasey's FB status update):
The internet has now gone totally ba-nanas for a humble Aussie pancake recipe.
The recipe for basic pancakes - you can see it here, because I know you are craving pancakes now - was first published on taste.com.au in March 2010.
Until now: a few weeks ago, the recipe started popping up on websites and Facebook feeds around the world, accompanied by the phrase: “I can’t think of anything to comment so here’s a pancake recipe”.
Have a look at your FB feed. You will start to see them… especially as status updates or in Facebook threads which are not even remotely relevant. Expect worldwide flour and sugar shortages!

I can't think of anything to say so I'm just going to post a pancake recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups White Wings self-raising flour
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/3 cup caster sugar
25g butter, melted
1 1/2 cups milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Step 1
Whisk milk, egg and vanilla together in a jug. Sift flour and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl. Stir in sugar. Make a well in centre. Add milk mixture. Whisk until just combined.
Step 2
Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Brush pan with butter. Using 1/4 cup mixture per pancake, cook 2 pancakes for 3 to 4 minutes or until bubbles appear on surface. Turn and cook for 3 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Repeat with remaining mixture, brushing pan with butter between batches. Serve.
